All American Steam Autoclave Sterilizers FeaturesThe autoclave sterilizers are made of high quality cast aluminum alloy that resists aging and corrosion, ensuring years of trouble-free operation. Only the All American Sterilizers features an exclusive, precision machined "Metal-to-Metal" sealing system with no gasket to replace. The positive action clamping locks align the cover to the base to form a steam tight seal. Because no gasket is involved, the cover is always easily opened and closed. An accurate pressure gauge, pressure control valve, over-pressure safety plug, and cool Bakelite handles and wing nuts are thoroughly tested features that ensure safe operation. Only a small amount of water is needed to create the dry steam. After achieving a minimum temperature of 250°F(121°C), and a pressure of 17psi, the dry steam penetrates and surrounds the bandages or instruments, making them sterile in 35 minutes** and ready for immediate use. No wiping is necessary to remove chemical residue or moisture, and cutting edges are not dulled. Important Notes Regarding All American Steam Autoclave Sterilizers*All American non-electric steam autoclave sterilizers are not recommended for use on glass top/flat ranges as breakage of heating elements due to the weight and large diameter of the sterilizer. The diameter of the sterilizer is larger than most burners and can transfer heat to stove top areas not designed for such temperatures. **The sterilization period begins when the pressure steam gauge needle registers in the green sterilization band shown of the face of the gauge and a minimum of 17 psi has been reached. The time required to reach this status will vary depending on factors which include: size of the unit; quantity of water being used; elevation; and output of heating source. ***Autoclave sterilizers resemble pressure canners but are NOT suitable for the canning process. Likewise, pressure canners must NOT be used as a sterilizer. FDA Registration for All American Steam Autoclave Sterilizers
