Canning Supply Recommendations

We recommend that newcomers to home canning, start with one of our water bath canner packages which includes all essential canning hand tools. With gained experience, the novice canner should then consider a pressure canner for the canning of low acid vegetables, meats, and other foods. We recommend that tomato product canners use citric acid to lower the pH of the product when using water-bath or steam canners, otherwise, a pressure canner must be used.

Please be sure to adjust all recipes for altitude and follow canning recipes carefully as modifying recipes or failure to adjust for altitude may lead to food poisoning.
